On October 14th from 6:30-8:30PM, Pete Herzog from ISECOM will be presenting at the local OWASP chapter meeting on web application security. Pete is the founder of ISECOM, a non-profit organization that has created the OSSTMM (Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual), and
will be openly discussing how to apply the science behind the OSSTMM in performing audits/assessments against web applications. OSSTMM is a focus on Operational Security, stressing the importance of "Trust Metrics" over traditional "Risk Metrics"...this will be very interesting and we're extremely fortunate to have Pete in town for this event.
NC OWASP chapter meetings are always free, and anyone interested can RSVP at our Meetup.com site at http://www.meetup.com/owaspnc. Or contact Mike Menefee .
